Printmaking Basics: JUNE Session 2 - Monoprinting

Open to all levels. Learn a new printmaking technique and practice it by making really amazing prints on nice paper, all in one afternoon.  Classes are repeated monthly…taking them multiple times will allow you to layer in new skills and build confidence in the print studio.  Repeat students can work with Tia Brady to explore working larger.

New! Weekend time slot and 4 hours each!

Mono printing involves creating one-of-a-kind prints using a variety of mark-making techniques. Watercolor paint or printing ink is applied to a plexiglass plate, manipulated with different tools and textures, and printed on paper using a printing press.

Instructor

Tia Brady received her BFA in printmaking from the University of Utah, after spending most of her teenage years at Saltgrass Printmakers in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She has been running the Hui Print Studio since 2019 and enjoys helping people fall in love with the art form, even with no experience.

She and her husband, Bo, also run Hex Press Maui, which is a mobile shirt printing company on a mission to share this unique art form with the world.  They do this by printing custom orders live at events and showing parts of the block-printing process you would normally have to visit a studio to see, making it an intriguing and captivating way to purchase wearable art.
