Visiting Artist Robert Dvoark is back! Anyone can paint watercolors with freedom and ease! Beginners and more advanced students are welcome. This class will teach you the secrets—everything from the foundation basics to more advanced techniques.
You will learn how to:
-use the magic of the medium
-have fun painting creative watercolors
-paint abstract watercolors for greeting cards and gifts
-techniques for painting people, landscapes, seascapes and other things
-learn color theory for mixing the right color values
-how to use water to get different effects
-use different brush techniques
-take advantage of the white paper
-a foundation of skills so that you can enjoy painting on your own
-achieve luminous transparent washes and much more
In this hands-on class you will learn a variety of magic with this remarkable medium while painting abstract, landscape, and still life subjects. Whether you are traveling, vacationing, on a weekend outing, or painting at home, you will easily be able to incorporate these skills. This class will prepare you for a lifetime of watercolor painting pleasure.
Materials list for students to bring to class:
-water container
-cotton rag
-round watercolor brush #10 or #12
-hake brush or a flat brush
-watercolor palette filled with colors
-6” x 9” or a 9” x 12” watercolor block
-No. 2 HB pencil
-kneaded eraser
-lunch for a 20–30 minute break.
